Schools produce a large quantity of rubbish and recycling. The important thing is to ensure that students, staff and visitors have access to bins wherever they are, both inside the building and outdoors. Bins should be clearly labelled and positioned in litter black spots as well as classrooms, corridors, locker areas and the canteen. Having sufficient quantities of waste bins will reduce litter and keep the premises clean and attractive. By providing a variety of bins throughout the school, being green will become second nature to students, staff, and visitors. New bins could potentially be funded by the Neat Streets grant.
